RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Space Florida continues its investment in the Florida Space Research Program (FSRP), providing seed money for R&D projects that advance the State’s goals. Investment in the Florida Space Research Program is attracting higher quality proposals and expanding the program's positive impact throughout the state. Likewise, Space Florida is supporting the new breed of space entrepreneurs and researchers who are pushing the envelope to get into space.

Space Florida continues to expand and focus use of the unique Space Life Sciences Laboratory, located at the Kennedy Space Center. Space Florida also works in collaboration with public and private universities and other entities, assisting to develop and support proposals for a Center of Excellence for Aerospace. With this support, Space Florida plans to foster and promote the research necessary to develop commercially promising, advanced and innovative science and technology, and transfer these discoveries to the commercial sector.
