EXPLORATION PARK, Fla.—September 10, 2025—–Today Space Florida, the state’s aerospace finance and development authority, and the Israel Innovation Authority, an independent publicly funded agency dedicated to fostering innovation ecosystems, announced the 13th call for project proposals in the Space Florida-Israel Innovation Partnership.
The research and development funding available, valued at $2 million, aims to cultivate an aerospace ecosystem and further strengthen the economic relationship between Florida and Israel. To date, Florida and Israel have helped fund over $22 million in valuable and innovative research.
Funding will be awarded to companies demonstrating promising partnerships and near-term potential for commercialization and economic benefit to both Florida and Israel. One Florida-based and one Israel-based company must team up to present a proposal that incorporates joint research and development projects in fields from satellite communications and microgravity research to AI and micro- and nanorobotics.
“Florida is proud to lead the way in forging international partnerships that deliver real results,” said Jeanette Nuñez, Chair of the Space Florida Board of Directors. “The Space Florida–Israel Innovation Partnership brings together world-class companies, accelerates new technologies, and ensures Florida continues to set the pace for aerospace innovation.”
“For 13 years, our partnership with the Israel Innovation Authority has created a bridge for aerospace companies to innovate, collaborate, and grow,” said Rob Long, president and CEO of Space Florida. “This program is more than funding—it’s a catalyst for breakthroughs that advance the aerospace industry worldwide while fueling growth and opportunity here in Florida.”
Dror Bin, CEO, Israel Innovation Authority, said: "This marks the 13th consecutive year of a fruitful collaboration between the Israel Innovation Authority and Space Florida - a partnership that continues to empower Israeli deep-tech companies to thrive through strategic cooperation with Florida-based industry leaders. We see immense value in expanding this bridge of innovation into the space domain and beyond. I invite Israeli companies, not only in the space sector but also in converging fields such as advanced materials, robotics, quantum tech, bio-convergence, water technologies, and agri-tech, to join this year’s call for groundbreaking R&D. Together we will enable the creation of future disruptive innovation."
Applications are due to Space Florida no later than 2 p.m. EST on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, and due to the Israel Innovation Authority no later than noon IST same day. The applications are independently evaluated and scored by Space Florida and the Israel Innovation Authority, which then jointly agree which applications will be funded. Florida and Israel established a $2 million recurring joint fund to support research, development, and commercialization of aerospace and technology projects that benefit both Israel and Florida in 2013.
The 2025 winners, MySky Eco of Port Orange, FL and Airwayz of Tel Aviv, Israel, received funding for a joint project that will support critical missions such as search and rescue, organ transport, border reconnaissance, package delivery—applications that require operational flexibility in congested airspace where traditional aircraft may be too costly or inefficient.
